Iron Butt Rally

John Young of the UK TR3OC completed this year's Iron Butt Rally on his T150 Trident. That's 11,000 miles in 11 days...

He wrote the below on the RealClassic web-site.

Highs :

1. Hearing the women speak in South Carolina - they all sounded like Scarlett O'Hara
2. Crossing Montana - the Big Sky State
3. Going to where the Ontario Speedway used to be with my Trident
4. Finding my way to Amarillo !!
5. Seeing that not one Honda CB750, Kawasaki Z900, Yamaha XS750 or Suzuki GS750 owner (all bikes that were suppposed to be superior to the Triples) seemed to have enough confidence in their bikes to take on the challenge

Lows :

1. When the bike stopped dead in a sandstorm 600 miles from the finish
2. Seeing "Turn right in 579 miles" flash up on the Sat Nav
3. Getting stuck on the George Washington Bridge in New York City at 11.30pm Saturday
4. Finishing !!

Next time on my new (well it will be two years old by then Triumph Tiger 800XC
