Speaking Of Bikes... / No start
Last post by Boo - May 27, 2023, 06:59:32 PM
Wally here filled up with diesel. Got home eventually, drained tank, cleaned pump and inside tank. Assembled it all again and added 2 gallons of E10. Still no start.
Switch on ignition and pump buzzes ECU and fuel pump relays click. What is not happening is the WRRRRRRTTTT thingy under the seat. I have no idea what the thingy is or what it does, but I do know it is now silent.
 Any clues please.

Guys,

I've been a member here for probably 14 years, and a MOD for over four years.  But, for various reasons I've not been on the forum for quite some time. Those that know me know that I've had a lot of change in my private life over the last four years and, in truth, I simply need to step down. so... this is me, signing off, closing the door, and wishing you all well in the future.

Good luck and ride safe,

Best regards,

BB

I can't remember what it was they used they used in the factory but grey colour sticks in my mind. Blue Hylomar should do the job, I've used that on liner base joints without any issues, water on one side, oil on the other side and cylinder temps on the third.

And have 2 sprags to boot! Another interesting observation is the 98 Tigre splined spacer has an oiling hole and the 2002 Trophy doesn't. Evolution of the engineering; the manual also stated changes/elimination in oiling passages were found superfluous. Traces of blue hylomar on case haves, is that what was used from factory? I have some if so but was intending to use 1207b 3bond.

Other Triples / Re: Daysie's Diary

You know how life gets in the way of a good project?

Well, Daysie stares at me every time I step in to the garage and I confess I've had little motivation of late. Tallulah Tiger still sits there, still not sold and I've had no incentive to sell her, Tabitha has been revived from her winter slumber and will go back on the road next month and Talyn J has been getting a lot of attention over the past few months.

But, the mind fog is now lifting, I've reduced my working time & now have more free time. The weather is warming nicely in the Northern Hemisphere, the days are getting longer and all the $h1t stored in the garage over winter is slowly making its way back into the garden - so I have space.

Time to do a little work on Daysie again methinks.

In between riding Talyn J and Tabitha anyway  :icon_lol:

Sorry to hear of your 'other projects' and the misfortune of your back issues. I understand how life can sometimes get in the way (see Daysie Daytona's diary).

Hope things improve for you soon & you can get back to what matters  ;)

:nono  No I'm not brave enough for that either  :cp  :blah
