Update, CDI arrived, bike runs perfect. Lesson learned, although we measured everything, changes transistors, resoldered and all the good stuff, only thing that made it run was another cdi, arrived today and she purrs and revs like the beast she is.
She is in pieces but will put her back together tomorrow.

I've done 200klm on rebuilt forks (seals, oil & gaiters) from a triumph workshop  :Topes :icon_frown:
Pss's me off, I have to strip it out of the bike again  :icon_mad:

True, but a great chance to upgrade the fork springs and change the oil as well. That transformed my steamer.

It's not over :icon_cry:
Right side fork seal is shot, don't know why.
It's had a little seep but now the front suspension is as good as a Z 50 Honda. :icon_frown:
More spanner work before anymore riding :icon_mad:

Hey man, probably see my other thread, it's long winded but.

1. Battery - ensure charged and healthy
2. Fuel trims with TuneECU - make a note of the map, trims, and IACV settings before fiddling
3. Check all cylinders are firing at idle by turning it on and checking exhaust outlets for warmth (thermal camera or burn your hands methods are acceptable) - issue here could be spark plugs
3. Throttle cable adjustment and free movement - should not stick, best to do with tank off
4. IACV function, throttle body balancing and vacuum leaks - Sort any issues (loose balancing screws is a thing) If you see any backfiring into the throttle body then consider timing issues and valve clearances
5. Engine map - check it is up to date
6. Fuel pump test (listen for abnormal squealing), fuel pressure, injector function - replace injector seals (lubricated with engine oil) if injectors are removed, clean them at the same time.

Guides for most of these things are on here, or you can find on youtube (Delboys Garage has a whole section on Tigers). I would also download the 885i user manual for the right VIN too

Oh good. I'll get on with it then.

Hopefully no lasting damage.

We all have our funny and unforgettable memories from the garage  :icon_salut:

This manifold backfire suggests inlet valve on no.2 is not completely closing and compression phase pumps back air/fuel mixture in the manifold, exploding with some correlation to no.2 firing time. It is serious suspicion that could lead to valve/piston further complications. I would do valve clearances first and check compression after. Then if no.2 shows lower pressure, head has to go off and valve seat potential damage cleared out until it is withing recoverable limits. Fiddling with fuel mapping should be no priority in such situation  :m
