Valve Job Needed

I took the head and one each of the new valves to the machine shop.  They ground the seats to match the new valves, and checked the head for warpage.  Then my guy reassembled the head.  No lapping required according to him.  Lapping would remove the hardened layer of the valves in the seat area and cause the same problem I just had.

I've lost my service manual so I can't check for sure on that.
