Replaced the battery in my 1999 885i this morning and now my check engine light is on.......what's going on?

Stretch

Electrical disruptions can make the ECU throw a code.  Mine did that once when I was riding with a loose battery connection.

When the ECU detects three engine warm-up and cool-down cycles, it ought to reset itself.
