I think this goes back to the old geezers days when Triumph motorcycles sold more bikes world wide than ALL the other bikes combined. A lot of the younger riders don't realize how popular Triumphs were back in the day.
Harley riders are especially fond of the Triumphs because most of them owned one before they owned their Harleys.
And most older Harley riders respect Triumphs because the Triumphs kicked their butts so badly.

the harley posers rarely know about triumphs, but the real harley riders respect Triumphs because of all the years of rivalry.

When they ask what year my Triumph is, half look at me wide eyed and say, "I didn't know Triumph was still making bikes? hmm."

"Triumph's back in business?  I didn't know that."

I get that a lot too.

There was an eleven-year period from '83 to '94 when you couldn't buy a Triumph in the USA, so folks thought they went out of business.

But they've been at it since 1902... longer than Harley-Davidson.

Almost everyone around here says, " I owned a Triumph once."
Then they say, " I wish I still had it!"

If there has been a strong Triumph dealer for a long time in the area....
there are many T- bones buried in plenty of garages.

BTW:
I've seen Jetdox ... it's a pity what a man will sacrafice to 'be cool' !
It's just that .... well ..... he's workin' on it.
