Hi Tiggers.  The hose pipe for the overflow bottle (on the radiator) is broken off.  Looks like someone took channel locks to it and just beat the heck out if it, then stuffed the hose on and clamped tight so it kinda held...but not for long.

There is a 2003 rad on ebay, *looks the same*, will it fit my 2k?

different part numbers
2000 is listed on Bike Bandit as 323 X 195 X 32 CORE(mm)

2003 is listed as 232 X 195 X 23 CORE(mm)

so going by the BB description the 955 radiator is smaller

will it work? only one way to find out   buy it and try it

The joy of used motorsicles.....local rad shop is going to epoxy a fitting on, they think it'll work, a straight fitting though so i may have to shim the radiator out a little bit so it doesn't hit anything.   Meanwhile, if anyone has a 99/00 rad they wanna sell, let me know!

Answering my own post :).  Rad shop unable to repair, in this age of disposable they no longer carry fittings nor have people/equipment to do brazing.

Luckily the good folks at triumphparts.uk had a good used rad that with shipping to US was only £200.  Quite a savings over new as even though BB lists it at $526, they'll be quick to let you know that it's really over $700.

As to mine, all I can guess is that a shop couldn't get the hose off so used channel locks or vise grips to try and twist the hose off.  The fitting was crushed, twisted, punctured in multiple places.

guess they never heard of a Razor Blade huh? slice the hose trim the end off like new again and easy removal
This is the very reason my bikes don't go to a shop some of the *cough*"mechanics"*cough* leave a lot to be desired !

Super, just PM'd him.  I have a good one now so don't really need it but since the rads are so darned rare I'm going to keep it and stick on the shelf.  I usually push my bikes past the 100kmile point so collecting spares in advance is good.

Got it.  Whoot!, it's on the way.  A spare rad to put with my spare alternator.

Said bugger the rain and took her on a 20 mile test run, mostly ton-up.  Ran just as nicely cool as always and nothing weird happened.....I love high speed in the rain.
