I saw this bike for sale on eBay and noticed this little cover. I love it!! I could really use one myself. I can hardly see my idiot lights during the day, even with new bulbs! The bike was an 01 with only 10K on it. It looked showroom nice!

Mustang

it was probably something the PO fabbed up or borrowed from something else as I don't believe Triumph offered any such doo dad

You need to fit some LED bulbs in your idiot lights, then you`ll be able to see them in the daylight!

Search on here, sure someone did a write up of what you need.

Don't put an LED in the high beam repeater,
As for the lamp 'shade' made this from a bit of right angle plastic strip, cant for the life of me remember what it fits or what its from but you get the idea.

Hey Metalguru,

Which TomTom is that you have there? How is it mounted? I really like that setup best from what I have seen. Please, can you give me some info on it?

Hi fnjeep314,

here another view of my TomTom Urban Rider (for motorcycles, rain safe)
Stainless steel plate curved to match dashboard and gps.
The liaison to the fairing was imperative for stability!
(the little pipe was cut from a sink water pipe)
For me, the placement is perfect. No need to turn your head on the road.

Hope it can be of some interest

Thanks fnjeep314.
From what I can see on the back of the unit, it is a Tomtom GO910. Can be a bit fiddly to operate on the move with a gloved hand. Plays mp3 too.
To keep it dry, (and to catch it if it falls off the mount) I just use a supermarket freezer bag and a reuseable cable tie, (real hi-tech here).
The bracket is made from the screen mount and junk in my w/shop. It is hard wired to a power supply via a switch mounted in the fairing, it could use the sunshade fitment for these but in UK not really much need.

Thank you so much for this post and the pics Mark, I've been trying to think of a good way to mount my satnav for some time. Good plan!

I wish I could do a set up like that, but my front fairing has the cut out for the windscreen and the plastic doesnt come all the way up. I wished it did, it would add so much more wind stability. I have been thinking about adding a metal tube across to the top bolts of the windscreen and adding a GPS mount to that.

This is the type of front fairing that I have. Sorry for pic stealing!

I wished I had this try of front fairing, the kind you, Marc, and MetalGuru have.

Have another look at my picture and you can see the mounting bracket comes from the fairing sub-frame, this will be good for your fairing.
